Higgs & Sons has welcomed four newly qualified lawyers to the firm.
Andrew Stokes, Adam Thompson and Alice Hall successfully completed their
training having joined Higgs in 2012, while Melita Bown has qualified after
joining the firm as a 2nd year trainee this year.
The Higgs & Sons training programme is regarded as one of the best in the
region.
Training Principal and Partner, Catherine Junor, commented: "Higgs & Sons
recognises ability, commitment and initiative and I congratulate Adam, Alice,
Andrew and Melita on qualifying as solicitors. They are evidence of the
continuing investment Higgs & Sons makes in the development of its
lawyers.
"I am delighted they have secured positions in their departments of choice.

they will be assets to the firm as a whole, as well as strong additions to the
teams they join."
Andrew will start his career in the Commercial Property team. He said:
"Training with Higgs has been a pleasure. Starting was an easy and very friendly
time due to the firm involving trainees before their start date - I felt part of
the team from day one and have grown significantly as a lawyer over the past two
years.
"I am very excited to be qualifying into a strong Commercial Property team
and look forward to being part of the future of Higgs as the firm continues to
grow."
Joining the award-winning Dispute Resolution team is Adam Thompson. He said:
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be staying with the firm after my training and
excited to contribute to the future of the Dispute Resolution team. The training
has been excellent and I already feel part of the team.
"The Partners at the firm are incredibly generous with their time and new
trainees are encouraged to try new things both professionally and personally - I
found myself playing cricket on my third day for the Higgs' cricket team!"
Alice Hall is set to boost the numbers within the Clinical Negligence
department. She said: "My time spent training with Higgs over the past two years
has provided me with a fantastic grounding for my career as a clinical
negligence lawyer.
"The support offered to trainees from day one is second to none. I really
feel that my skills and my confidence have grown enormously. Coming up to
qualification I feel honoured to be part of such a vibrant firm and I definitely
feel as if I'm ready to take my career to the next stage.
"Higgs has a long history of developing their staff from trainee level
onwards, and I'm proud to be a part of that continuing tradition."
The fourth newly qualified lawyer is Melita Bown, who joins the Family team.
Melita said: "I joined Higgs & Sons as a second year trainee. Thanks to the
open door policy and welcoming nature of the firm, the transition from my
previous firm has been seamless. I was made to feel part of the firm from the
day I started.
"I feel privileged to be qualifying into the Family team at Higgs & Sons,
and am looking forward to being a part of the firm's growth and to the
opportunities that will be available to me as a lawyer here."
